Identification of Sources of Resistance to Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris in Brassica napus Crops
Lema, M., Soengas, P., Velasco, P., Francisco, M., and Cartea, M. E. 2011. Identification of sources of resistance to Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris in Brassica napus crops. Plant Dis. 95:292-297. Black rot, caused by Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris, is one of the most important diseases affecting Brassica crops worldwide. Nine races have been differentiated in X. campestris pv. ca...
متن کاملBiological role of xanthomonadin pigments in Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris.
Previous studies have indicated that the yellow pigments (xanthomonadins) produced by phytopathogenic Xanthomonas bacteria are unimportant during pathogenesis but may be important for protection against photobiological damage. We used a Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris parent strain, single-site transposon insertion mutant strains, and chromosomally restored mutant strains to define the bi...
متن کاملGenome Sequence of Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris Strain Xca5
An annotated high-quality draft genome sequence for Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris race 1 strain Xca5 (originally described as X. campestris pv. armoraciae), the causal agent of black rot on Brassicaceae plants, has been determined. This genome sequence is a valuable resource for comparative genomics within the campestris pathovar.
متن کاملCultivar Variation in Hormonal Balance Is a Significant Determinant of Disease Susceptibility to Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris in Brassica napus
This study aimed to directly elucidate cultivar variation in disease susceptibility and disease responses in relation to hormonal status in the interaction of Brassica napus cultivars and Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris (Xcc), the causal agent of black rot disease. Fully expanded leaves of six B. napus cultivars (cvs. Capitol, Youngsan, Saturnin, Colosse, Tamra, and Mosa) were inoculated ...
متن کاملGenome Sequences of the Race 1 and Race 4 Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris Strains CFBP 1869 and CFBP 5817
Xanthomonas campestris pv. campestris is the causal agent of black rot on Brassicaceae. The draft genome sequences of strains CFBP 1869 and CFBP 5817 have been determined and are the first ones corresponding to race 1 and race 4 strains, which have a predominant agronomic and economic impact on cabbage cultures worldwide.
